At our proprietary lab in De Pere, WI, we manufacture quality eyewear for our eye care center patients at over 140 locations across the North and Midwest. POSITION SUMMARY :
Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production teammates within the Coating Department. Serve as the technical lead for the area. Be the expert on efficient operation of all equipment in the department. Key focus with their team to achieve quality, productivity, and turnaround goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
OPERATIONS
- Plan, organize, direct and control the work of staff in order to meet quality, productivity and turnaround goals in the Coating Department
- Interact with Production Manager – Coating to coordinate efforts and communicate effectively with teammates.
- Monitor processes to ensure quality checks are carried out and develop countermeasures to correct defects
- Use problem solving techniques to proactively address issues or concerns within the department. Elevate to Production Manager – Coating for resolution when appropriate
- Communicate using troubleshooting boards in each Coating room
- Review jobs to determine if they meet Optical Lab standards
- Troubleshoot all equipment issues to achieve resolution and determine the need to engage Maintenance Team
- Perform production duties alongside Coating Department teammates
TRAINING AND IMPROVEMENT
Ensure teammates have received applicable training to perform all aspects of their job including equipment operations / work and safety procedures as outlined in their respective job descriptionProvide manager with input for teammate’s performance reviews and development plansPartner with teammates in Coating Department to give performance feedbackRecommend or implement measures to motivate teammates and to improve morale, production methods, efficiency, equipment performance, productivity, andproduct quality
MAINTAIN SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ensure teammates follow all Optical Lab and company policies and adhere tosafety related guidelines
Complete accident reports and follow accident communication proceduresPerform stretching before reporting to workstationMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS :
High School Graduate or equivalentMinimum 2 years of previous related experience in optical (eyewear)manufacturing, retail, or other relevant leadership experience
