As a Construction Project Estimator at First Star Safety, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our construction projects. Your core responsibility will involve analyzing project plans and specifications to determine the overall estimated costs, including materials, labor, and other relevant factors. Your in-depth understanding of construction processes, combined with your analytical skills, will ensure our projects are competitive and realistic. Engaging and collaborating with various internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders, you'll bring clarity to the project bidding process and help steer decisions rooted in accurate data and informed judgment. The ideal Candidate will be a meticulous and analytical individual with a strong foundation in construction processes, combined with excellent interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and drive decisions that position First Star Safety for continued success.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Analysis : Examine requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to derive a comprehensive understanding of the project scope and nuances.
- Cost Estimation : Provide detailed estimates for materials, labor, and other associated costs. Prepare and present these estimates to management and stakeholders for decision-making.
- Vendor and Contractor Engagement : Develop and nurture strong relationships with company vendors and contractors. Manage, evaluate, and negotiate bids from these partners, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Risk Analysis : Evaluate factors influencing the cost and time frame of projects, weighing potential risks and setbacks to ensure accurate projections.
- Bid Development : Lead the preparation of competitive bids for construction projects, leveraging insights from previous projects, market conditions, and strategic considerations.
- Reporting : Compile actual project costs against estimates, providing insights into discrepancies and learning opportunities. Prepare and present regular budget reports, project plans, and other relevant documentation.
- Collaboration : Engage with architects, site managers, and other project professionals, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project's lifecycle.
- Regulatory Compliance : Stay updated with the latest ODOT codes and other necessary roadway practices
- Continuous Learning : Maintain a keen awareness of advancements in construction methodologies, safety protocols, and other industry-related developments to inform your estimations and strategies.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; high school diploma or GED minimum.Proficient in reading and interpreting construction specifications and plans.Skilled in demonstrating and presenting proposals.Mastery in relevant estimating and project management software.Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Effective time management and organizational abilities.Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative.Strong customer service orientation.Ability to work autonomously and under minimal supervision.Willingness to travel locally and regionally as the role demands.Abilities :
