Kurz Wind, a division of Kurz Industrial Solutions, is a leading aftermarket parts provider for the wind industry. We are looking to expand into more clean energy markets, and this person would be critical of that mission.

Role Mission

As the Director of Renewables Expansion, your goal would be to launch and grow new revenue streams in solar, battery storage, and onsite grid infrastructure. There would also be a special effort around the top 5-10 wind accounts and integrating sales efforts through all of the clean energy initiatives with these clients. Your job would be to lead key projects, manage complex bids, and drive strategic sales initiatives that align Kurz's offerings in different spaces.

You will collaborate with the Outside Sales, Inside Sales, Product Management, and Marketing teams to create account-specific strategies, drive new business, and execute projects. Travel would be approximately 30% of the time - primarily to corporate offices. This location can be located anywhere within the USA - near a major airport preferred. You will be attending tradeshows domestically and internationally.

The role is not designed for incremental gains- it's designed to create new markets, new offerings, and a new category of value for Kurz. It requires an ambitious person that can thrive in ambiguity, earn trust through action, and can translate bold ideas into operational reality.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Execute QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews) with key accounts (virtually or in person) : visit top 5ish clients 1-2x times a person per year alongside outside reps.
  • Gain a broad understanding of wind business Kurz currently has and participate in field sales trips with outside sales team.
  • Develop and execute account strategies in solar and battery storage to increase revenue and capacity by developing new suppliers and training team members on these new initiatives.
  • Create business plans and a long-term vision for Kurz 2.0 (Kurz Wind becomes Kurz Clean Energy) focused on future growth and strategic differentiation.
  • Lead major project management efforts, including bidding and post-sale execution.
  • Serve as a sales trainer and technical resource to internal stakeholders on product, pricing, and strategy.
  • Drive marketing initiatives that promote product lines within assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to communicate customer needs and product trends.
  • Actively track account activities, tasks, and projects within CRM / ERP systems.
  • Identify and close new client opportunities through deep account insight and strategic networking.
  • Develop strong vendor relationships with existing suppliers as well as new suppliers to ensure accurate and timely support for customer needs.

Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; experience in Wind Industry, Solar Industry, Site Management, or Industrial Sales accepted.
  • 5+ years' experience managing large accounts and / or corporate clients preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM / ERP systems required.
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to think strategically, act tactically, and influence across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
