Directly supervises pharmacy technicians and other operational personnel as required. Organizes and chairs regular operations meetings. Supervises and coordinates the activities of all technicians to ensure efficiency, accuracy, thoroughness, productivity, and professionalism. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, State Board of Pharmacy regulations, and applicable employment laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, orienting, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; reviewing and approving timecards / time off requests; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Masters degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least three years of hospital pharmacy experience or clinical pharmacy residency. Maintain professional competence through professional organizations and continuing education. Participated in periodic educational opportunities. Contributes to the education of peers and the nutrition support literature via professional presentation and publications.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, consumers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumferences, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Current Pharmacist License with Department of Consumer Affairs, respective State Board of Pharmacy,. Verification of continuing education units as required by the state board of pharmacy. CEUs for respective state licenses are required every two years.
