Job Summary
Arbor Properties, a leading multifamily management company in Central Texas, is seeking an experienced In-House Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance of our apartment communities through high-quality painting work, ensuring a fresh and welcoming environment for new and existing residents.
Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to :
Assist lead painter and maintenance staff in preparing apartment units for move-ins and turnoversSupport surface repair work by helping float, sand, and patch walls to correct imperfections such as cracks, holes, and minor drywall damageAid in the application of spray textures (e.g., orange peel, knockdown) under the guidance of experienced team membersPrepare work areas by masking, taping, and covering furniture, flooring, and fixtures to protect from dust, debris, and oversprayClean and prep surfaces prior to painting or texturing, including light sanding, dust removal, and minor cleaningMix materials, clean tools, and help maintain painting and texturing equipment in good working orderTransport and organize supplies and materials to support efficient job completionFollow instructions from lead painters or supervisors and assist in maintaining safety and cleanliness of the worksiteDemonstrate willingness to learn repair techniques and spraying methods through on-the-job trainingExhibit strong teamwork by supporting turnover and maintenance teams as neededAdhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Maintain a respectful and professional attitude toward residents and coworkersQualifications :
Some experience in painting, construction, or general maintenance preferred, but not requiredAbility to take direction and work in a team-oriented environmentStrong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to qualityAbility to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasksReliable and punctual with good communication skillsJob Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalentValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Comfortable working on ladders and scaffoldingFlexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends when necessaryStrong communication skills and customer service orientationWillingness to follow instructions and adhere to company standardsRequired to provide own (industry-specific) hand toolsBasic computer skills / knowledge required to perform job functionsStrong communication skillsAbility to work with a diverse group of people and customersThis is a full-time position.
