Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to provide specialized support within K-12 schools in Charleston, SC. This contract role runs from January through May 28, 2026, covering a maternity leave assignment with a flexible itinerant schedule across multiple schools. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students develop strong communication skills and will operate within an established school district framework.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments, evaluations, and screenings for students across K-12.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's communication needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students to improve speech and language abilities.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state requirements.
- Deliver services primarily on-site, responding to diverse student needs in an itinerant role.
Qualifications :
Holds current and active South Carolina state licensure for speech-language pathology; pending licensure not accepted.Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) required.Experience working with K-12 student populations in school settings.Strong understanding of special education processes, including IEP development and compliance.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a dedication to student-centered care.Ability to manage a caseload effectively while providing high-quality individualized therapy.This opportunity offers a professional environment focused on student outcomes with a supportive district.
