The New Interdisciplinary School (NIS), a nonprofit early childhood center located in Yaphank, NY is hiring for a Speech-Language Pathologist! We provide high-quality educational and therapeutic services for children ages birth to five, including those with and without special needs. Our mission is to create an inclusive, supportive, and developmentally rich environment where every child can thrive.
The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for providing Speech therapy intervention according to the specific needs of the child and the IEP / IFSP.
- Ensures that assigned children are receiving Speech Therapy per IEP.
- Maintains logs and write reports as required.
- Speech Therapy evaluation as needed.
- Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Attends training / conferences for professional growth.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with administration, staff and parents.
- Interacts with parents, staff and other outside agencies in a positive manner to facilitate the development of good working relationships.
- Capable of lifting a child with a weight of 45 pounds multiple times a day
- Conduct parent workshops as needed
- Attend all training / conferences department and monthly staff meetings
- Provides in-service training for staff as needed.
- Provides consultation for staff and other outside agencies in a positive manner to facilitate the development of good working relationships.
- Assist in the supervision of students doing clinical observation and internships at the request of the coordinator.
- Participates in projects as needed.
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist for our Autism, Self-Contained and Integrated programs. NYS license in speech pathology or TSSH certification required. Early childhood experience preferred.
