Associate Attorney - Litigation

• Position Overview :

Straus Meyers, LLP is seeking a highly motivated Associate Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic team of 15 attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and a keen interest in insurance defense. As part of our team, you will handle a wide range of responsibilities, from case analysis to trial preparation, all within a supportive and collaborative environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a well-respected firm.

Full Remote position available for experienced counsel.

• Key Responsibilities :
• Represent clients in various phases of litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, pre-trial proceedings, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and other documents to support the defense of insurance claims.
• Engage in deposition and discovery processes, including witness interviews and expert consultations.
• Provide insightful analysis and recommendations regarding legal strategy and coverage issues.
• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys, partners, and clients to ensure high-quality legal representation.
• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitration proceedings as appropriate.
• Qualifications :
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar in California
• 3-6 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or related fields.
• Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and confidentiality.
• Preferred Qualifications :
• Experience with insurance coverage litigation and / or working directly with insurance carriers.
• Proficiency in legal research platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
