Job Purpose
This position is responsible for supporting the maintenance and operation of facilities on the Els Center of Excellence (ECOE) campus under the supervision and direction of the Facilities Manager to ensure a clean safe and functional environment for employees and visitors. Facilities Tech I performs tasks related to security environmental safety / inspection custodial and event setup and breakdown. This position requires attention to detail and high-quality standards to be a part of the team responsible for maintaining the campus at optimum levels. Facilities Tech I will work collaboratively with all organizations on campus to respond promptly and accurately to inspection clean-up and support requests at the direction of the Facilities Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Performs light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs painting and minor repairs to ensure the facility is in good working order.
- Provides custodial needs of the ECOE
- Provides security for the ECOE in absence of security guard.
- Regularly inspects all ECOE property to include rooftops mechanical equipment and the like and immediately reports issues or concerns to Facilities Manager.
Set up and Support :
Assist in setting up meetings rooms and events including arranging furniture and equipment as neededMay serve as a point of contact for external vendors and contractors when escorts are requiredAssist with fire alarm or other mechanical testing as assignedDaily Tasks :
Keep exterior areas clean with could include blowing dusting pressure cleaning and wiping down benches and trash cansWalk through buildings to inspect for any maintenance and repair issues weeklyComplete any work orders on the same day as directed by Facilities ManagerGeneral Tasks :
Glass door window cleaning for assigned buildingsCobweb cleaning around all doors for all buildingsDumpster area cleaning quarterly (including surrounding areas)Back up for guard houseOther duties as assignedQualifications
Required :
