Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a home health position working with diverse adult populations and a minimum of one year home health experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Home health setting covering Sarasota and Charlotte County
  • Patient population includes med / surg, cardiac, ortho, post-surgical, neuro, respiratory, and rehabilitation cases
  • Caseload of 6-8 skilled home visits per day, with a minimum of 6 points per day and potential for up to 7 as assigned by management
  • Visits are self-scheduled based on the needs of the HomeCare office
  • Day shift, Monday to Friday, from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM
  • 1-2 weekends per contract may be required
  • Equipment provided includes laptop, MiFi for internet access, and portable printer
  • Uses BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, Ace Timesheet, and Cerner charting (Cerner experience preferred)
  • Travelers may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliates
  • Responsibilities include patient assessments, home exercise program implementation, education, safety, documentation, and billing
  • Patient and family education on safety, equipment use, and injury prevention is required
  • Work includes care for diverse diagnoses including cardiac, pulmonary, neuro, trauma, and post-operative conditions
  • Scrubs required in any solid color
  • Facility is smoke-free
  • Self-scheduling allows flexibility based on office needs
  • Permanent staff must have a one-year break before returning as travelers
  • Travelers must live at least 100 miles from the facility
  • Return travelers only eligible for select specialties and must meet return policy criteria
  • Pre-employment modules required before start, average 4 hours to complete

    • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active FL state PT license or compact license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
  • Minimum 1 year recent home health experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required for home visits
  • Experience with assessment, cardiopulmonary / circulatory care, and home exercise programs required
  • Familiarity with medical equipment such as gait belts, walkers, sit-to-stand lifts, sliding boards, wheelchairs, and prosthetics required
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required
  • Flu vaccination or signed declination with mandatory mask use required
  • Must be able to pass EKG exam within three attempts
