Insurance Verifier (Schedule: 8:305:00?p.m., Monday through Friday)

• Interface with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Update patient demographics and information in the system.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain proper authorization from insurance carriers.
• Determine what funds to collect upon admission.
• Notify patients of monies due and document in the billing system.
• Perform other duties as required or requested by chain of command.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Required Experience: Minimum two years previous experience in hospital insurance verification.
• Skilled in operating office equipment necessary to fulfill job duties.
• Forty?five (45) words per minute typing speed.
• Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge Word and Excel preferred.
