Work directly for a Medical Device Manufacturer on Long Island. Summary - Quality Assurance Engineer. Medical Device / Military Grade. Ensures compliance with standards, identify issues, recommend solutions, and create quality documentation.
Responsibilities
- Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives regarding quality issues and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
- Perform supplier audits.
- Collaborate with team as necessary in performing and generating 5 Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, PFEMA, CP, SPC, MSA)
- Generate, document, and submit FAIR.
- Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects as needed, representing quality assurance and the customer.
- Serve as the primary quality assurance resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, validation, and continuous improvement.
- Review suppliers" purchase orders and establish supplier quality requirements.
- Compile, write, and deliver training material on quality standards and activities if necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor"s degree in engineering or related field (desired).Ability to solve routine design and engineering tasks with some assistance.Basic understanding of engineering and mathematics principles.Understand interpretation of drawings, specifications, blueprints, etc.Change ControlStrong analytical, problem solving, and teamwork skills.Cost Savings ImprovementsExcellent time management, prioritization abilities, and strong project management skillsAbility to develop and implement strategies.Ability to work with and manage complexity / change.Demonstrated ability to make tough decisions.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skillsCorrective action follows through with suppliers.Personally driven and motivates others to excel.Familiar with SPC, Six Sigma, Process Capability StudyExperience with Continuous improvementAbility to use MS Office Tools such as Word, Excel, SAP, and MiniTab?.Confidence and ability to make recommendations as needed.Compensation
