Description : Job Title : Temporary Legal Assistant (On-Site) Location : New Providence, New Jersey Duration : Approximately 3+ weeks (starting Tuesday, December 2) Compensation : $25–$27 per hour, depending on experience Schedule : Full-time, on-site Position Overview We are seeking a Temporary Legal Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and other staff for a period of approximately three + weeks. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals across multiple practice areas, including but not limited to litigation, real estate, employment, and trusts and estates. Draft, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports. Conduct conflict checks, assist with e-filing, and manage billing support tasks. Prepare, organize, and maintain case files and documentation in both physical and electronic systems. Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements. Prepare confidential reports and assist with general office operations such as answering phones, filing, and mail management. Collaborate with other departments as needed to support ongoing projects. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Publisher) and legal applications such as iManage. Understanding of legal terminology, court filings, and document formatting. Ability to type at least 55 words per minute. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Professional demeanor and ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary coursework in legal studies preferred. At least two years of related experience in a law firm or legal department.
