Job description

Overview

Strategy Operations Consultant will help GSC identify, evaluate, and implement new ideas, applications, or processes. They use data, research, creativity, and analytical skills to find solutions to complex problems and generate value for customers and stakeholders.

Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to the Global Technical Center in Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

Relocation : This is not eligible for relocation. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support cross-functional innovation projects to enhance GSC stakeholder capabilities and efficiencies
  • Provide a timely response to requests, requirements and data from varied global stakeholders
  • Support informal reporting and data analytics in support of key performance metrics and ad hoc requests
  • Identify opportunities by staying abreast of emerging market trends, technological advancements, and industry developments
  • Evaluate ideas by assessing feasibility, potential risks, and impact; analyze data and evaluate viability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovative initiatives and ensure alignment with business goals
  • Think strategically about long-term implications and align innovative efforts with overall business strategy
  • Apply critical thinking and creative problem-solving to explore alternative solutions and recommend effective approaches
  • Lead innovative projects through project management and testing to implementation
  • Stay curious and continuously learn about new methodologies, tools, and best practices related to innovation

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program / product management, manufacturing, logistics, data science, or product development
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Data Science, related field, or equivalent work experience; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience interacting with business partners and managing expectations
  • Experience leading projects with IT partners
  • Strong strategic agility to connect ideas end to end and innovate solutions
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with strong presentation skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to influence others across multiple locations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of analytical ability for unusual and difficult problems
  • Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Proactive in managing and communicating project status, progress on deliverables, and risks / issues to stakeholders and leadership
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Supply Chain / Supply Planning Functions; experience with Kinaxis Rapid Response, Blue Yonder (JDA), o9 Solutions
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and excel in Change Management
  • Supplier Management & Risk Mitigation, performance metrics and continuity of supply
  • Complex manufacturing experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel / Power BI / Tableau / Python for data modeling, forecasting and analytics
  • Predictive Analytics / Machine Learning for demand planning and risk sensing
  • Data analytics with familiarity of BOM Structures, MRP and Master Scheduling
  • Digital Twin / Control Tower concepts for digitally connected supply chains
