Fair Labor Standards Act Status : Salaried / Exempt
Hours per week : 40
Scheduled Work Hours / Shift : 3 -12-hour shifts launching from Orangeburg hospital and then traveling to underserved area for the day.
Patient Population Focus : Outpatient / Underserved
Patient Population Age Range : 0 years-death (Family practice)
Required Minimum Training : Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN as noted below.
Physician AssistantPreferred Experience : Minimum of 3+ years of family medicine or urgent care experience as a PA.

All certifications must be current and complete prior to start date :

Provides direct care to patients through the following activities :
Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations in mobile unitEvaluates and treats based on history, physical examination, radiology, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guidelineConduct health screenings, preventive care (e.g., immunizations, cancer screenings), and health education.Initiates referrals to other health care providers, and / or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physicianDocuments and bills for direct care providedPerforms and participates in quality / performance improvement activities and clinical researchPotential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team membersIdentify social determinants of health and help connect patients with appropriate community resources and support services.(please inquire for more details)
Mobile Rural Health Clinic (RHC)
