Responsibilities and qualifications below reflect the role of an LPN in a Family Practice clinic setting, including patient care under supervision, documentation, and coordination with providers and care teams.
Responsibilities
- Assesses and implements patient care under supervision. Prepares patient for examination.
- Provides direct patient care. Assists provider with examination and treatment of patient as directed.
- Under provider oversight, may be responsible for telephone triage using age-specific triage protocol books and computerized resources.
- Documents patient care in health records according to department standards.
- Obtains and conveys information to and from patients, pharmacies, and other providers as directed and supervised by a licensed provider. May obtain referral authorizations for treatment as directed by provider.
- Ensures ongoing professional development through continued education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Bring / Qualifications
Accredited State Board of Nursing LPN Program required.Minimum of 1 year experience; clinical LPN experience preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patients needs.Licensed Practical Nurse Oregon and Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.Basic computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications.Cooperative working and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with a wide variety of patients, families, and staff.Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple clinical tasks; well-organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and capable of independent work.LPNs in Oregon will perform triage components aligned with state regulations within the LPN scope of practice.Benefits & Perks
