Location : Franklin Park, IL

Shift : 1st shift & 2nd shift available

Bonus & Shift differential offered

Position Summary :

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily production operations to ensure that quality, safety, cost, and productivity goals are met. This role oversees production line performance, staff scheduling, and compliance with all food safety and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in food manufacturing who can drive efficiency, teamwork, and continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across assigned lines or departments.
  • Ensure adherence to GMPs, USDA, FDA, and company food safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain and monitor production schedules to meet customer orders and operational targets.
  • Lead, train, and coach production employees to achieve performance, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Monitor production KPIs, identify root causes of downtime or quality issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production bottlenecks and ensure consistent workflow.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of production data, yields, and material usage in ERP or production tracking systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability within the production team.

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role within a food manufacturing facility.
  • Experience working in a USDA facility
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and quality systems (HACCP, GMP, SQF).
  • Experience with production scheduling, process improvement, and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop production staff in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
