As a Facility Site Engineer that supports manufacturing and facility infrastructure at the Glasgow, DE Siemens Healthineers Site, you will be part of a team that solves complex problems, installs new equipment and maintains existing equipment to keep a world-class manufacturing site supplying diagnostic products.

Responsibilities

  • Work within cross-functional and cross-discipline teams to install and maintain electrical and HVAC / R equipment and systems according to plans, specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Oversee daily site operations of electrical, HVAC / R and Water Systems Facilities Technicians.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems and components including air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, air compressors, gas-fired boilers, heat pumps, wells, chillers, environmental units, fire panels, electrical components, transformers, switchgear, motors, panels, and circuits.
  • Advise on preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance for complex Electrical and HVAC / R systems and determine the need for repair and / or replacement of system components (mechanical, electrical and / or fluid systems).
  • Review and maintain cost center budgets.
  • Read and understand process flow diagrams, blueprints and schematics for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Audit and approve Preventive Maintenance task completion.
  • Maintain required records utilizing Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Work with vendors to specify and order necessary parts for jobs.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled systems : electrical, mechanical and pneumatic.
  • Collaborate with and support external service suppliers as needed.
  • Work within a work order system.
  • Operate knowledgeably with electrical meters and testers, manometers, humidity recorders, leak testing equipment, refrigeration gauges, temperature recorders, pressure gauges, torches, recovery units, vacuum pumps and micron meters. Test electrical systems and circuits with testing devices (ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes) to verify safety and functionality.

Physical & Work Environment

This role involves working across the Glasgow, Delaware site in various weather conditions, including hot, humid, cold or rainy weather. You should be comfortable wearing appropriate PPE for the task including gloves, glasses, hearing protection and hard hats when required. Physical demands include standing, squatting, climbing ladders, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • Advanced engineering degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, and / or CFM / CPE Certification required.
  • Preferred Master Electrician License in Delaware or Master HVAC License.
  • Preferred possession of a Universal CFC certification.
  • Trained in LOTO.
  • Preferred Trane equipment experience.
  • Experience with Lean business systems and methodologies such as TPM, 5S and Standard Work.
  • 10-15 years experience working in commercial settings with commercial equipment.
  • Familiarity with facilities ancillary equipment : Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors, Wells, Water Systems, Air Handlers, Commercial Refrigeration and Cargocaire industrial dehumidification and climate control systems.
  • Position will require off-hours on-call support as well, as occasional weekend overtime.
  • Compensation & Benefits

    The Annual Base Pay for this position is Min $114,400 - Max $171,600. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography / market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. If commission eligible, commissions are based on individual and / or company performance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability insurance, paid parking / public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safe time.
