Storeroom Specialist

We are seeking a Storeroom Specialist for our First Quality Tissue plant. This position will be located in Anderson, SC. Storeroom Specialists are responsible for identifying, locating and issuing materials needed by FQ team members to perform routine maintenance repairs, production procedures and other duties that are essential in maintaining facility operations.

Primary responsibilities include :

  • Understands and follows all safety policies and procedures.
  • Wears all proper PPE when required
  • Enters all maintenance and operations issue and credit transactions into inventory management system (INFOR) for all parts, equipment, materials and supplies daily.
  • Assist FQ team members in identifying parts and assisting with pick ticket entry if needed.
  • General understanding and knowledge of inventory management processes.
  • Unpacks and inspects all incoming material shipments for damage, shortages, over shipments and verifies the description of material ordered against the material received.
  • Contacts appropriate vendors on discrepancy of shipments.
  • Completes necessary documentation and data entry function into First Quality inventory management system (INFOR) for stock material and SAP for non-stock purchases.
  • Places all First Quality stores stock material into the appropriate location.
  • Contacts and advises the appropriate individuals for all non-stock material receipts.
  • Maintains and files all receiving documentation by day of receipt.
  • Performs cycle inventory counts to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy.
  • Data entry of all inventory counts on the day performed.
  • As needed, relocates, organizes and updates inventory management system (INFOR) to better facilitate additional stocking quantities of parts, equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Research and provide detailed part-level specification for material master data.
  • Prepares storeroom outbound material shipments. (Damaged, over shipped, incorrect material, and materials being returned for repair.
  • Prepares and maintains all documents associated with outbound shipments.
  • Contacts appropriate service to schedule pick-up of shipments.
  • Maintains complete and accurate files of all required documentation.
  • Properly identify and label all stock storeroom material with First Quality material number, bin location and date received for readily accessible means.
  • Communicate parts requirements and concerns of the maintenance crew to the Storeroom manager.
  • Delivers parts, equipment, materials and supplies to assigned maintenance and operations areas.
  • Stores parts in logical and safe locations using an organized data entry system and record keeping.
  • Performs all other assigned duties when directed.
  • Understands and follows GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations / guidelines when applicable.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean work environment by performing housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Operating forklifts and material handling equipment to unload and move parts, equipment, materials and supplies as needed.

The ideal candidate should possess the following :

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Basic operating knowledge of INFOR and SAP.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • General knowledge of an automated parts inventory control system.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical industrial components.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Able to perform assigned duties without direct supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Jobs requires standing, walking, climbing on ladders to retrieve parts.
  • Shift work will be required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous Storeroom, stockroom, parts room or experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities listed above desired.
  • Forklift experience
