Warfel Construction is currently hiring a full-time position as a Heavy Equipment Operator . This position reports directly to the Superintendent, in addition to our Special Projects Manager, and will require strict adherence to all Warfel safety rules and regulations, including any site-specific necessities.
Standard work hours are M – F, beginning at 7 : 00 AM through 3 : 30 PM with a 30-minute lunch. Occasional Saturday work and overtime may be required. Travel to and from the jobsite varies; reliable transportation is required. This position does require the ability to work in ever-changing work environments, including variable weather conditions.
Requirements
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Preparing and operating heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures, to ensure the appropriate movement of materials.
- Heavy equipment will include trac hoe, trac loader, backhoe, rollers, etc.
- Drive company dump truck on an as-needed basis. Operation may include pulling trailers to move equipment and materials.
- Detect and report problems with heavy equipment.
- Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance
- Load and unload equipment and materials from vehicles and trailers
- Ensure company equipment, material and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
- Complete any required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.
- When not responsible for operating heavy equipment, this position will be responsible for assisting other Warfel employees in the performance of their duties, including performing general labor duties such as landscaping, patch paving, pipe-laying, demolition, or any other excavating or concrete tasks.
- Needs to have a commitment to safety and keeping the work area neat and clean.
Education and Experience :
