About The Position

Job Title : Cath Lab Tech

Profession : Cath Lab Tech

Specialty : Cardiac Cath Lab

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 10 Hour Days

Hours per Shift : 40

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in procedure area required

License : RT or equivalent OR RCIS is required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

ICU background required

Cath lab experience required

Experience with endovascular procedures with cardiothoracic surgeons required

Experience performing cases in Hybrid OR setting required

Comfortable with monitoring sedation and gtt titration

Endovascular approach experience

Description :

This position is located in a Level II Trauma Center.

It is also a Level III NICU and Magnet designated facility.

The unit has 1 hybrid cath lab / OR room available.

There will be 1-2 cases scheduled per day.

Patient demographic includes adults.

Common cases / procedure types include :

• Open and closed procedures
• Thoracoabdominal branch endoprosthesis
• Transcarotid arterial revascularization
• Thoracic endovascular aortic repair
• Transcatheter aortic valve repair
• Transcatheter mitral valve repair
• Aortoiliac femoral femoral angiogram
• Femoral bypass

Support within the department includes a charge nurse available in the Cath lab.

Technology and equipment utilized include EMR : EPIC, IV Pump : Alaris, Med dispensing : Omnicell, and Siemens and Philips X-ray and hemodynamic systems.

Flexibility in scheduling is needed, with weekend rotations potentially every other or every third weekend.

On-call coverage is required, likely every other to every third night.

Holiday work is also expected, likely every other holiday.
