Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. This position requires a strong knowledge of animal anatomy, veterinary terminology, and excellent animal handling skills.
- Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques.
- Manage kennel operations, including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment for all animals.
- Stay updated on veterinary practices and advancements in animal care.
- Skills
- Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff.
- Anesthesia and Performing Dental Cleanings is required.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with the veterinary team.
- Experience with dog training or behavior modification is a plus.
- Familiarity with pet grooming practices to enhance the appearance and hygiene of animals.
- Understanding of animal anatomy to assist in medical procedures accurately.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with equine care is beneficial but not required.
