Position Summary

Cafeteria Attendant position assist in preparation and service food items for Colleague Cafeteria in accordance with production requirements and quality standards with maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cafeteria cleanliness
• Prepare hot foods and salad bar items to par levels.
• Maintain a clean and freshly stocked buffet
• Ensure the opening and closing check list is complete
• Always present yourself in a friendly manor
• Maintain knowledge of hotel features/ services, outlets, hours of operations, etc.
• Practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel/company standards; react and assist in hotel emergency situations as needed.
• Observe standards for the department in image, appearance, and grooming, and properly represent the company.
• Assist in other areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Great time management and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• The ability to provide an excellent level of customer service, even in stressful situations.
• Physically fit with good stamina for physical tasks such as moving and lifting furniture and standing for long periods of time.
• Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and holidays.
• High School Diploma or GED required, some college or vocational course preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English with colleagues and suppliers, to their understanding.
• Ability to provide friendly, efficient service to colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and exercise judgement to resolve personnel and production issues that arise during daily operations.
• Strong positive attitude and ability to initiate light conversations with guests.

Work Conditions

• Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time.
• Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard kitchen equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
• Must be able to lift equipment, supplies, etc. of at least 30 pounds.
• Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
