Job descriptionWork in the Neuro ICU of a Level I Trauma, teaching, and short-term acute care hospital Care for patients with TBI, SAH, SDH, tumor resections, status epilepticus, and other neurologic disorders Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 2 Possible float to other ICUs, PCU, ED, or PACU to care for admitted patients Flexible 36 or 48-hour work weeks available with day shift (7 : 00-19 : 30) Weekend shifts vary based on unit needs Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed Charting is completed using Cerner EMR Uses EVDs, A-line insertions, CRRT, central line insertions, and advanced neuro monitoring equipment Responsibilities include advanced neuro critical care and the potential to float to similar units based on staffing needs First-time travelers are accepted Travelers may be asked to switch to the CTICU depending on facility needs No on-call requirement Black scrubs required No cost for parking at facility Testing such as P / F Testing is required Pending license at time of application is acceptable Travelers who were previously permanent employees must have 12 months gap before returning Drug screen and compliance documentation must be completed prior to start Modules completed during orientation and annually Current NM or compact RN license, or eligibility for pending license at time of consideration 1.5 years of recent Neuro ICU nursing experience required Certifications required : ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Experience with EVDs, ICP monitoring, CRRT, post-TPA, and post-thrombectomy care required Must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation RTO requests greater than 7 days require approval Applicants must live more than 75 miles from the facility High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
