Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a NM or compact RN license and ICU neuro experience.
Responsibilities
Work in the Neuro ICU of a Level I Trauma, teaching, and short-term acute care hospitalCare for patients with TBI, SAH, SDH, tumor resections, status epilepticus, and other neurologic disordersNurse to patient ratio is 1 : 2Possible float to other ICUs, PCU, ED, or PACU to care for admitted patientsFlexible 36 or 48-hour work weeks available with day shift (7 : 00-19 : 30)Weekend shifts vary based on unit needsBlock scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteedCharting is completed using Cerner EMRUses EVDs, A-line insertions, CRRT, central line insertions, and advanced neuro monitoring equipmentResponsibilities include advanced neuro critical care and the potential to float to similar units based on staffing needsFirst-time travelers are acceptedTravelers may be asked to switch to the CTICU depending on facility needsNo on-call requirementBlack scrubs requiredNo cost for parking at facilityTesting such as P / F Testing is requiredPending license at time of application is acceptableTravelers who were previously permanent employees must have 12 months gap before returningDrug screen and compliance documentation must be completed prior to startModules completed during orientation and annuallyRequirements
Current NM or compact RN license, or eligibility for pending license at time of consideration1.5 years of recent Neuro ICU nursing experience requiredCertifications required : ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)Experience with EVDs, ICP monitoring, CRRT, post-TPA, and post-thrombectomy care requiredMust be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmiasCOVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentationRTO requests greater than 7 days require approvalApplicants must live more than 75 miles from the facilityBenefits
