The Phlebotomist III - Floater plays a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and accurate specimen collection across multiple locations. This position requires an experienced and adaptable phlebotomist who can provide leadership, mentorship, and reliable support in both high-volume and specialized environments.
The Floater represents the company's commitment to accuracy, compassion, and professionalism -ensuring every patient interaction upholds laboratory quality and safety standards while supporting daily operations at various Patient Service Centers (PSCs) or in-office collection sites.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced phlebotomy procedures , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.Float between designated sites to provide coverage and maintain continuity of patient care.Act as lead or mentor to onsite staff; assist with onboarding and training new employees.Ensure all specimen collections, labeling, and documentation meet CLIA / CAP and company standards.Support daily operations at PSCs, mobile phlebotomy, and long-term care facilities as needed.Coordinate with internal departments (Sales, IT, Logistics, Billing, Laboratory Services) for complex testing orders or client needs.Maintain compliance with all HIPAA, OSHA, and corporate safety policies.Demonstrate excellent communication, professionalism, and customer service at every patient interaction.Required Experience
5 years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy (PSC / IOP) environment preferred.Proven ability to perform confidently and independently in fast-paced, high-volume settings.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required (for floating coverage).Required Skills
