Riverside Academy is seeking to hire Specialized Caregivers / Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
to work with children with developmental disabilities and special needs. The role involves
planning and facilitating activities, ensuring a safe and healthy living environment, and working
collaboratively with other team members.
Responsibilities :
- Implement the daily schedule for the youth in your care.
- Arrange and provide transportation for youth as needed.
- Ensure a safe and supervised living environment for the youth.
- Prepare and serve regular, nutritious meals.
- Perform routine housekeeping and occasional deep cleaning of the facility.
- Document youth self-administration of medications.
- Maintain records of daily activities, incidents, and maintenance requests.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all current policies and procedures.
- Understand and execute emergency and disaster procedures.

Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalent.Desire to work with youth and learn about residential treatment facilities and programs.CPR / First Aid Certification, Assistance with Medication Certification, and restraint training(e.g., MANDT, CPI).
Valid Idaho driver’s license and vehicle insurance.Ability to pass an Enhanced Background Check through the Department of Health andWelfare.
Familiarity with safety concerns in a youth-based facility, including managing physical orverbal altercations and emergency situations.
Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to build and maintain working relationships with professionals and communitymembers.
Maintain a professional demeanor in both verbal and written communication.Passion for working directly with youth who have developmental disabilities and haveexperienced trauma.
Physical Requirements :
Sufficient strength and mobility to ensure the safety of others.Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk.Ability to stand for prolonged periods while working with youth.Ability to make multiple trips up and down stairs during work.Ability to interact with youth at play within the community or facility.Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. as needed.Sufficient strength to assist youth in moving from danger, if necessary.
