This position is the full-operating level Plumbing technician responsible for maintaining, repairing and updating our department facilities mechanical plumbing systems and fixtures to ensure operational readiness of the facilities and site conditions which facilitate the mission requirements of the building's occupants. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Plumbing Systems and Fixtures Repairs This position is the full-operating level capable Plumbing technician responsible for maintaining, repairing and updating our department facilities mechanical plumbing systems and fixtures to ensure operational readiness of the facilities and site conditions which facilitate the mission requirements of the building's occupants. Specific duties include :
Inspections and Facility Audits Inspects building plumbing fixtures, systems and associated facility equipment to determine requirements for the maintenance and repair needs and costs of proposed projects, upgrades for existing systems. Provides the plumbing reviews in the performance of facility audits for State Buildings Controlled Maintenance Program assisting the Capital Development and Planning Branch of the Property Services Section. Functions as a S.M.E. for the Unit, reading blueprints and plans, suggesting courses of work in this field.
Advising / Consulting / Other Duties as Assigned Consults with department programs and staff on plumbing system requirements and needs for construction, renovations or other programmatic changes. Advises on plumbing system and fixture applications during project development and supports the low-dollar construction or controlled maintenance projects advising the Capital Development and Planning Branch when necessary on low-dollar threshold projects. Assists, as required, with special projects for other CDPS agencies small-construction projects. May participate in campus snow removal duties if assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Current journeyman plumber license issued by the State of Colorado. You must submit a copy of your license with your application for full consideration. Three years of experience performing plumbing and steam piping related tasks which included preventative maintenance, repair and installation of plumbing and steam systems.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies One year service plumbing experience One year of drain cleaning experience Experience using Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word is necessary for performing administrative functions of the job. Must possess excellent customer service skills to include communicating with and responding to all levels of employees in a professional environment.
Conditions of Employment Requires successful completion of a background investigation that includes a polygraph exam, a fingerprint based criminal history search, reference checking. A current Colorado Driver License is required and must be maintained during employment. Must be Colorado resident at the time of application. Must be physically able to perform strenuous physical labor including lifting up to 50 pounds.
