Job descriptionClinical Nurse role in Labor & Delivery Unit at Mount Sinai West. Provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research. Delivers patient care incorporating Relationship Centered Care and nursing process. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs using critical thinking. Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team for care planning. Educates patients and caregivers about care plans and health promotion. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team. Manages assignments within Modified Primary Nursing care delivery model. Role models Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care practices. Considers patient values, preferences, cultural diversity in care. Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Uses evidence-based practices to understand patient perceptions of care. Initiates service recovery and escalates concerns appropriately. Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening. Conducts Purposeful Hourly Rounding addressing key patient needs. Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care. Demonstrates clinical skills crucial to quality and safety. Implements process improvement strategies and engages in peer review. Collaborates on quality improvement projects and nursing research. Contributes to quality and safety practices and compliance measures. Implements high reliability principles to avoid high risk behaviors. Escalates safety hazards following institutional protocols. Documents nursing practice to support quality and performance improvement initiatives. Registered Professional Nurse (RN) licensure required. Relevant nursing certifications for Labor & Delivery nursing. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Labor & Delivery Unit
