Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida's state-of-the-art, 60,000 square-foot facility incorporates the latest in leading-edge technology in order to provide optimal care for patients who have bone, joint, muscle and spine problems. Our office includes a full Physical Therapy and Occupational / Hand Therapy division, which work in close coordination with our physicians to provide non-operative, preoperative, post-operative and preventive care.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance and obtain authorizations via phone, fax, or online tools
• Document benefit details, patient expenses, and eligibility on authorization forms
• Scan and record authorization information for patient eligibility, benefits, and out-of-pocket expenses
• Communicate with patients about out-of-pocket expenses and arrange payment plans as necessary
• Coordinate with medical assistants for patient eligibility and scheduling of procedures
• Schedule appointments for procedures upon confirming eligibility and obtaining proper authorization
• Maintain detailed patient records in the computer system
