Helps clients develop, maintain, and recover their ability to perform tasks in their daily life. Conducts evaluations and provides interventions for clients with functional, cognitive, or behavioral impairments. Evaluates physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial abilities of clients. Develops realistic therapy goals and administers appropriate occupational therapy programs. Documents client information for evaluation and establishes therapeutic plans. Modifies plans if necessary to enhance client outcomes. Provides education designed to improve understanding and functional outcomes. Utilizes appropriate age-related treatments and evaluations for clients. Demonstrates and incorporates knowledge of current research into daily treatment. May treat individuals of all ages with various diagnoses and disorders. Follows accepted clinical practice guidelines of the professional organization. Exhibits flexibility with acceptance of variable work schedules and assignments. Participates in activities to promote departmental engagement. Interacts with individuals outside the department, including providers and family members. May supervise assistants, aides, and students in patient care. Performs other related duties as requested by management. Charting is done via the electronic medical record system.
