Job Title : Travel RN – Behavioral Health Facility : Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM

Overview : Twin County Regional Hospital is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Behavioral Health unit. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals with psychiatric and behavioral health needs, ensuring safety, therapeutic support, and effective treatment in a structured environment.

Responsibilities :

Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.

Administer medications and monitor patient responses.

Provide therapeutic interventions and support for patients experiencing behavioral health crises.

Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.

Document patient care accurately in electronic health records.

Educate patients and families on treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge instructions.

Maintain a safe and supportive environment, adhering to hospital policies and safety standards.

Qualifications :

Current RN license in the state of Virginia or compact state eligibility.

Minimum of 2 years of recent Behavioral Health / Psychiatric nursing experience required.

BLS certification required; CPI or equivalent crisis intervention training preferred.

Strong communication, de-escalation, and therapeutic engagement skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-acuity environment.

Assignment Details :

Travel contract position

Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM
