Description : Job Summary

We are looking for a part-time Sterile tech. Sterile Techs partners with the Office team to provide superior clinical support services to help patients get the care they need. This is a great opportunity for a student interested in Dental Assisting or pre-dental school prep.

Duties

• Clean supplies, equipment, instruments, and instrument trays, following standard precautions for decontamination.
• Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments properly : must remove all organic and inorganic materials from dental instruments before sterilization process.
• Test sterilization equipment routinely to ensure proper functionality.
• Responsible for daily and monthly maintenance of all sterilization equipment, hand pieces, handpiece motors, suction, and traps.
• Operate water sterilization tools according to established guidelines.
• Perform equipment inventory and restock supplies when needed.
• Maintain accurate sterilization records.
• Maintain organization of all tools.
• Verify that supplies, instruments, and equipment are in working order. Replaces and / or repairs any that are broken.
• Stock all operatories and designated sterilization area(s).
• Follow OSHA guidelines and maintain safe and effective working habits; report any unsafe tools or procedures to the Office Administrator.
• Miscellaneous other duties as directed by supervisor.
