Description
Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Librarian at the Walla Walla campus. The start date is at the beginning / during the Fall quarter in September 2025.

General Description :
We seek a learner-centered, proactive, and innovative librarian to provide general and specialized instruction and reference services. Major responsibilities include course-related information literacy instruction in multiple modalities including face to face and virtual environments and utilizing eLearning tools (LMS, Panapto, etc.); in-person and virtual reference service; development of print and web-based (such as LibGuides) research and instructional materials; consultation with faculty to support their research and course development; and participation in collection development efforts and the co-lead college Open Educational Efforts.
All librarians perform multiple roles including public service, patron instruction, and coordination of an assigned operational area, (this position will coordinate information discovery and systems for the WWCC Library.), as well as other professional responsibilities within the library and the college. Collaboration with colleagues in planning, delivering, and evaluating the library's information literacy instruction program, collection development, and reference services is an essential aspect of each library faculty member.
In addition, this position will take a lead role in managing library digital collections and services in support of the library's learner-centered mission. This position will support the implementation and administration of existing and emerging technologies that enhance the leaner's experience and engagement within the library and across the curriculum. Equity is core to our work and as such, this position will also promote and manage digital services (eResources and library website for example) to achieve a positive information discovery and engagement experience by ensuring maximum visibility, accessibility and usability for our campus community. The person in this position will also collaborate closely with the library's Open Educational Resource coordinator on the creation, adoption, or 're-mixing' of open educational resources.

Essential Functions :
Information Literacy
Assumes a proactive role in creating information-literacy focused learning opportunities and experiences in WWCC's myriad academic and work force programs. This includes planning, teaching, and assessing information literacy and related instruction, for credit-bearing courses and individual teaching sessions developed in collaboration with discipline faculty to provide such instruction.
Reference
Consistent with the library's teaching mission, Faculty Librarians provide learner-centered reference and research services, including information literacy skill development, appropriate resource use, and developing print and online instructional materials and tutorials.
Discovery and Systems
This position will serve as the primary contact and coordinator for Library Discovery and Systems.

Conditions / Terms of Employment
This is a full-time tenure-track position exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Faculty terms and conditions of employment are negotiated with their exclusive bargaining representative, the Association for Higher Education. A complete copy of the agreement can be found on the WWCC Human Resources Page .
Persons hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of lawful authorization to work in the United States within three (3) days of employment and official college transcripts. WWCC participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. Candidates will be subject to a criminal history background check as a condition for consideration of employment. Information from the background check may not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position. The College is a tobacco-free campus.
Compensation :
The College has a negotiated faculty salary schedule. Employee placement on the schedule is determined by education level and experience. Salary is dependent on the number of days of the contract and the candidate's placement on the negotiated faculty salary schedule. Initial placement is generally $81,330 - $92,718 for a standard 196-day contract, dependent on qualifications (additional compensation for doctorate degree. The College has a comprehensive faculty benefit program including medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance; paid sick leave; and retirement and two optional deferred compensation programs. All full-time employees will automatically have 3% of taxable income deferred into the State of Washington Deferred Compensation Program (DCP). The college also supports faculty professional development. Walla Walla Community College requires all employees to participate in direct deposit for payment of salary.
