About this role :

Data is one of the most important and strategic areas in the company. As a Program Director on our Discover Integration team you will serve as a strategic thought partner and execution leader enabling the success of the Discover Integration Program. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of program and project execution communications and operational excellence providing critical support for enterprise-level data workstreams in one of the worlds top financial institutions.

As a Director of Program Management you will :

Swiftly develop a deep understanding of the organizations integration strategy and vision so that you can lean into complex issues and influence as necessary

Partner with Enterprise Data leadership to create socialize and deliver our ambitious integration agenda

Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand processes and drive results; Connect dots across multiple leaders to understand and aggregate impacts to the business and other stakeholders

Work with key executives and partners to understand areas of need and build efficient and effective operational and communication processes

Be data driven as a way to continuously improve operations

Establish maintain and facilitate program standards practices and governance.

Lead moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects peers and direct reports.

Design develop and manage project plans in a complex dynamic environment revising needs to meet changing requirements

Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent

Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.

Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage inform and influence outcomes

Experienced at identifying patterns and commonalities that can create a bigger picture out of small pieces anticipating whats around the corner

Proven in practicing discretion while handling highly sensitive issues

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelors Degree or military experience

At least 4 years of experience in Staff management and training

At least 4 years of experience in Organizational development and performance

At least 4 years of experience in Budget management

At least 4 years of experience in Project or process management

Preferred Qualifications :

Bachelors Degree in Business Finance or Organizational Development

6 years of experience in Project or Process management - Experience managing visible projects which require the ability to manage interdisciplinary team members remove obstacles and influence appropriately

5 years of experience in Communications planning and development including department communications leadership team meetings presentations memos and reports

5 years of experience in Staff management and training

5 years of experience in Organizational development and performance

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean VA : $200100 - $228400 for Director Project Management

Richmond VA : $181800 - $207500 for Director Project Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
