Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU (NICU) night shift position requiring a WA or compact RN license and NRP certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a level III NICU within an acute care setting
  • 34-bed unit with patient ratios from 1 : 1 up to 1 : 3-4 infants
  • Patient population includes infants as early as 24 weeks gestation, without surgical, cooling, or ECMO cases
  • Uses Epic EMR, experience with Epic preferred
  • Specialized equipment includes Drager 500 ventilators and Phillips cardiac monitors
  • Shift is 12 hours, nights, with weekend and holiday coverage as needed
  • Floats to Post Partum as required
  • NICU charge nurse always on duty, with opportunities for night shift charge traveler roles
  • Provide intensive care nursing to premature and critically ill neonates
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, and a NICU-specific PICC team
  • Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24 / 7
  • Staff dependent scrub color required
  • Floor-specific orientation provided before starting
  • First time travelers may be considered
  • Holiday and extended summer coverage may be needed

  • Active WA or compact RN license required at time of application
  • Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN experience required
  • Current certifications in BLS and NRP required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
  • Experience with drips such as insulin and dopamine
  • Candidates cannot have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year
