American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry Float Pool role in an acute care Level 1 trauma setting, requiring AZ or compact licensure and the ability to titrate cardiac drips.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Telemetry Float Pool across acute care units including Telemetry, Neuro Tele, and MedSurgLevel 1 trauma hospital settingPatient populations include post-cath, post-vascular, neuro post-surgical, general tele, ortho, surgical, and oncologyFloat required to all Telemetry, MedSurg units, and multiple campuses within a 9-mile radius12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with 4 weekend shifts per schedule and 2 out of 3 major holidays requiredNurse-to-patient ratios typically 1 : 3-4 on Telemetry and Neuro units, 1 : 4 on MedSurgCentralized telemetry monitoring; RNs must be able to interpret EKGsUses Cerner EMR; experience preferredFirst to float within and across units, including possible mid-shift floatingSpecialized procedures include titration of cardiac drips (Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine) down onlyResponsibilities include patient care for telemetry and MedSurg populations with a focus on post-surgical, cardiac, and neurological conditionsMust be able to titrate cardiac drips and interpret EKGsPass / fail skill and knowledge testing is required prior to and on the first day of assignmentNavy scrubs requiredClinical team includes charge RNs without patient assignments, PCTs, and unit supervisorsRounds by hospitalists during the day and on-call at night; 24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy supportFirst-time travelers are acceptedCandidates must not have worked for facilities associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past year in any capacity except through outside PRN staffingMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel position\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license in hand at time of applicationMinimum 2 years of recent RN experienceCurrent AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredExperience with cardiac drip titration and EKG interpretation requiredMust pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing (two attempts allowed)Pass / fail Sim Lab required on first day of orientationAbility to float to similar or lower acuity units, including ICU, Cardiac Tele, Cath Lab, and all MedSurg / Tele unitsMust provide a copy of driver’s license at time of considerationTwo professional references required : one supervisor reference from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years\n Benefits\n
