American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Float Pool role requiring AZ or compact RN licensure and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is within the Telemetry Float Pool at an acute care hospital with trauma level 1 designationWill float between all Telemetry and MedSurg units, including specialized areas like Neuro Tele, Cardiac Tele, and various holding areasFloats between Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses, with advance notice of assignmentsPatient ratios range from 1 : 3-4 for Telemetry / Neuro units and 1 : 4 for MedSurg unitsCommon patient populations include post cath lab, post vascular procedures, post-surgical neuro, ortho, surgical, oncology, and general MedSurgMust work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and 2 of the 3 major holidays during assignmentFirst to float when unit census allows; may be required to float mid-shift depending on staffing needsRequired to wear navy scrubs while on assignmentSpectralink phones used for communication; centralized telemetry monitoring in Tele and Neuro unitsAssignment includes 12-hour shifts, typically 7am to 7pmCharge nurse and supervisor support present on each unitOnsite RT and pharmacy available 24 / 7No pediatric patients; minimum age 15 years and olderReturning employees must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit facilities within the past year\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact (NLC) RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of relevant RN experience requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredMust have experience titrating cardiac drips and interpreting EKGsExperience with Cerner EMR preferredMust pass a dysrhythmia exam before contract and a simulation lab competency on first day of orientation; failure on either results in ineligibility for 6 monthsDocumented references : one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one supervisor or peer reference from the last 3 yearsCopy of valid driver’s license required for consideration\n Benefits\n
