Patient Demographics : Obstetric and Gynecologic patients

Patient Volume / Census : Approx. 1000 deliveries annually

Admissions : Yes

Rounding : Included

Case Mix : Labor & delivery, OB emergencies, gynecologic procedures

FACILITY INFORMATION

EMR System : Epic

Office Equipment Available : Standard hospital OB / GYN equipment

Specialty Backup Available : Midwifery coverage 24 / 7; physician backup available

Support Staff Available : Midwives, nursing staff

Reason for Coverage : Supplemental urgent coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required : Yes

Credentialing Timeline : standard credentialing applies

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Overtime : Daily OT after 12 hours; Weekly OT after 168 hours

Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Not specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Cesarean sections

Dilation and curettage (D&C)

Laparoscopy for ectopic pregnancy

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses : Active NY license or ability to obtain

Board : Board Certified OB / GYN

DEA : Active DEA required

Certifications : Not specified, BLS / ACLS typically expected

Experience : Recent clinical experience in OB / GYN hospitalist role

Other Qualifications : Proficiency with Epic EMR

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide inpatient hospitalist coverage for OB / GYN patients

Manage labor & delivery including high-risk cases

Perform emergent procedures including C-sections and D&Cs

Conduct laparoscopic procedures for ectopic pregnancy as needed

Collaborate with midwifery and physician backup staff for patient care

Document patient encounters and procedures accurately in Epic EMR
