We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. This long-term Human Resources Generalist contract position offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and administrative support. Responsibilities :
- Facilitate the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
- Manage onboarding activities to ensure a seamless transition for new hires, including orientation and documentation.
- Conduct regulated background checks and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Maintain HR records and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating meetings, interviews, and training sessions.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team, including preparing reports and correspondence.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address employee inquiries and resolve HR-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, including TB screening and vaccination requirements.
- Utilize HRIS systems to manage employee data and generate reports.
- Support the implementation of HR initiatives and policies to enhance organizational performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or comparable field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience including full employment life cycle recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, corrective actions, terminations, work comp, payroll, and unemployment.
- Strong understanding of recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Experience conducting background checks and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Previous experience in long-term care, health care and / or hospitality strongly preferred.
- HR Certification strongly preferred (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
