Job Requirements :

Under the direct supervision of the Department Manager and Imaging Director, the Lead OR Radiology technologist will assume responsibility for the radiology department within the OR. He / she will serve as a unit lead technologist by assisting other radiologic technologists, ensuring quality, and resolving situations as they arise in the OR. Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to facilitating workflows by creating employee OR rotations, training and orientating in the OR setting, Joint Commission tracers, ensuring PACS and imaging quality assurance in OR setting. Lead will report any issues with radiology equipment within the OR to Imaging Manager. Will be responsible for employee OR competencies (initial and annual). The lead OR technologist will also provide radiographic imaging to patients of all age groups. The lead OR technologist utilizes equipment and technique to assist in diagnosis or treatment including but not limited to general radiographic procedures, mobile radiographs and operation of mobile fluoroscopy units to provide imaging during surgical and / or invasive procedures. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. He / she must be available for "on-call" duties, holiday rotation, weekends / nights when and if needed, overtime and / or on-call / call-back status. He / she must be capable of and willing to cross-train new team members to meet the needs of the facility as well as capable and willing to assist in the cross-training and orientation of students in the OR. Attends all monthly staff meetings unless absent from work or excused by Imaging Manager. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 1 hour online training.

Qualifications

• Current State of Florida license
• Current ARRT registry in Radiology
• AHA Healthcare provider BLS
• Proficiency computer skills
• English verbal and written fluency
