Job description

Assistant Director, AHEC

The Assistant Director, AHEC is responsible for the daily administrative operation of the Northeast AHEC and direct oversight of activities related to health careers promotion, student services, continuing education, and community health / grant initiatives.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Represents the Administrative Director for Education and Research in an administrative capacity as assigned.
  • Manages and supervises the Northeast AHEC’s daily activities.
  • Manages the Health Careers Education Coordinator, Student Services Coordinator, Education Coordinator, Outreach Services Coordinator, and Educational Assistants.
  • Participates in Northeast AHEC strategic planning activities.
  • Assists with budgeting and daily financial operations of the Northeast AHEC.
  • Provides quarterly and annual progress and financial reports.
  • Oversees compilation and submission of six-month and annual activity reports in compliance with the Northeast AHEC's state and federal funding requirements.
  • Assists with preparing and presenting information to the AHEC Advisory Board.
  • Seeks external grant funding and research opportunities to develop innovative programs that may benefit the organization and the region; directs and provides oversight of these and other special projects.
  • Develops relationships with educational institutions that may serve the region's needs or that have an interest in educational programming or establishing clinical rotation sites within the region.

Education :

Master's Degree in Health Sciences, Business / Public Administration, or related field required. Experience may considered in lieu of education.

Experience :

Four years of experience in program planning, implementation, and administration required. Supervisory experience preferred.
