Application Engineer

Summary of Role : To be a part of the US Application Engineering team, providing excellent technical customer support for GF technologies, focused on Power Management applications, leading to successful tape-outs.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Cultivate long-term, strategic partnerships and alignment with GF customers to generate growing demand for our differentiated solutions
- Meet with GF customers to collect or better understand technical requests and issues gating design
- Provide application engineering solutions to solve complex design issues and ensure the customers success
- Analyze customer requirements for application of GF's products
- Work independently under minimal supervision
- Routinely report status of projects and address design gating issues with urgency
- Advocate for customer to our internal development organizations to improve and enhance the GF's enablement solutions, technologies and business processes
- Resolve customer technical issues through GF's case system
- Support GF teams in creating or maintaining technical customer-facing documents
- Routinely coordinate and participate with GF teams to drive technical development, continuous improvement, cost reduction or productivity improvement
- Travel - Up to 10%, as needed

Be a company-wide subject matter expert in circuit design, applications or enablement, and able to guide or mentor peers on GF solutions or issue resolutionSolve complex problems and bring innovation to problem-solvingRepresent the Application Engineering team within GF or in customer-related engagementsGenerate documents to facilitate customer issue resolution and internal business process introduction or improvementsPerform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Compliance, Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs at GFWork and collaborate on other projects and assignments, as neededRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field with 6+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, design or enablementExperience with circuit design environment, tools & methodologiesExperience Power Management technology, application, design, PDK or design tools & methodologiesExperience with Linux, shell scripting, SVRF, TCL, Python or other automation languages & environmentConsistent performance and professionalismSkilled with Microsoft tools (e.g. Office, Outlook, SharePoint, MS-Dynamics, etc.)Strong communication skillsStrong planning & organizational skillFluency in English Language written & verbalPreferred Qualifications :
Master's in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field with 7+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, design, or enablement; orPhD in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field with 5+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, design or enablementPublication of design, application or design enablement documents in previous rolesExperience with modeling, ESD, latch-upExperience with Booleans and design rulesExperience with physical design, DRC, DFMFamiliarity with device physicsFamiliarity with the tape-out processFamiliarity with PCMs, process KPIsFamiliarity with silicon manufacturingProject managementSales or Customer interfaceCross-functional project leadership / participationExpected Salary Range $94,300.00 - $231,600.00 The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
