Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Kerrville, TX 78028 (Texas Hill Country) Unit : 3 West Med Surg Unit Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Start Date : December 15, 2025 End Date : March 16, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (06 : 30 - 19 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,730 - $1,770 Patient Ratio : 1 : 5 days, 1 : 6 nights Facility Housing : Available for travel nurses Floating : Required to 2 West, CDU, and ARU units Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg and short stay experience Certifications : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required) Telemetry nursing experience preferred Experience with Meditech charting system preferred Ability to float to designated units as needed COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical / religious exemptions considered) First-time travel nurses welcome, depending on experience Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses (respiratory, cardiac, GI, urinary, substance withdrawal, chest pain, syncope, seizure, electrolyte imbalances, endocrine disorders) Manage patient assignments with a 1 : 5 day and 1 : 6 night ratio Float to 2 West, CDU, and ARU units as required Perform specialized procedures : cardiac stent post-care, pacemaker placement, and stress tests Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, and more) Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR Participate in rapid response / code teams and provide wound care Work in a positive, team-oriented environment in a new healthcare facility Experience the best of Texas nursing jobs while making a difference in a community-focused hospital.
