Radiologic Technologists are entrusted to use their education in the art of radiologic imaging of the human body, with the intent of providing excellent diagnostic images for the treatment of injury and disease.

Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology ProgramARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) RegisteredNM State Certification for Radiologic TechnologyPhysical demands : lifting a minimum of fifty (50) poundsMaintains current BLS certificationDuties and Responsibilities :
Performs basic Radiologic procedures at a professional and technical level not requiring constant supervision and utilizing industry standards.Understand the basic reporting system for position.Provide knowledgeable coverage for the O.R., ICU, and E.D. departments as needed.Understand the usage of the D.R. system, transfer and viewing of images through the P.A.C.S. system.Understand the ordering system through the R.I.S. (Radiology Information System) and E.M.R. systemUnderstand triaging radiology exams and contacting radiologist for proceduresUnderstand use of afterhours teleradiology systemMaintain, clean, and re-stock each radiologic exam room when procedure is completed.Transportation of patients as needed.Adheres to SJRMC radiology dress code.Maintains confidentiality of all hospital matters (i.e., HIPAA)Practices good communication skills.Conducts self in a professional manner consistent with the values of San Juan Regional Medical Center.Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and developmental needs.Attends meetings, workshops and conventions to increase clinical skills.Provide professional communication with staff and patients.Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work :Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship

Exposure to radiation hazards through radiology proceduresExposure to body fluids through direct contact, IV procedures, infection, and / or contagious diseasesProlonged standing.Must be physically able to lift move, push, or pull patients.Provide multiple and directional guidance during procedures to patients with care and compassion.Interaction with potential verbally abusive patients
