Job description
Job Title

Support compliance with waste-related laws and Company policies at operating facilities and historic properties, ensuring cost-effective solutions and strong relationships with regulatory authorities and site personnel. Manage and support compliance with TSCA and EPCRA laws and environmental metrics reporting requirements. You will manage and coordinate TSCA and EPCRA compliance and reporting activities to promote accuracy and consistency. You will coach, mentor, and train environmental metrics and waste coordinator teams, fostering professional development. Oversee global data collection through Metrics Tracking Software and provide validated metrics for reporting. Coordinate hazardous, universal, and solid waste compliance activities and identify deficiencies in site programs, implementing corrective actions. Participate in internal environmental audits, review and approve treatment and disposal facilities, and manage select compliance activities at non-operating sites. Support corporate sustainability initiatives and legislative engagement related to waste management.

What You Bring To Freeport

Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related natural science (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science) or Mathematics and 10 years of environmental management experience OR Master's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related natural science (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science) or Mathematics and 8 years of environmental management experience. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations; ability to interpret and apply rules. Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in team settings. Analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Commitment to safety and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Environmental or related discipline. Mining or metals industry experience. Experience with State and Federal legislative development processes. Familiarity with ISO 14001 standards and auditing procedures.

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $126,500-$177,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration. Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements. More details will be shared during the hiring process.

Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in downtown Phoenix, AZ. Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator. Occasionally work may be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk. Will be required to frequently lift moderately heavy objects up to ten (10) pounds during the course of the workday. Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required. Will be required to travel up to 35% (Domestic 30% and International 5%)
