Electrical Engineering / Renewables Practice Builder

Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking an Electrical Engineering Practice Builder to join our Renewable Energy team in Texas - This position will lead and support diverse public and private sector projects throughout Texas and across the country. This opportunity could be in Houston, The Woodlands, or Austin

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for the Resiliency Practice in Texas and surrounding communities. We are seeking a leader with background in business development, managing relationships with clients, supporting and leading projects, and leading and mentoring team members.

Markets are not limited by geography but driven by relationships. Leadership responsibilities include : operating with integrity and sound business principals, providing practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing a renewables / energy practice. The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business. Responsibilities Include

• Lead complex design of electrical systems for solar, batter storage (BESS), and other renewable projects throughout TX and other markets across the US.
• Preparation of project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and marketing proposals
• Lead a team of qualified staff while mentoring, training, and growing a team to expand our electrical engineering practice
• Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams
• Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical plans, equipment schematic and block diagrams, load calculations, and one-line diagrams
