Job description
We are seeking a general cardiologist interested in serving a broad range of patients from Ventura County and surrounding communities. In addition to General Cardiology, Cardiology Associates has subspecialists in Interventional and Structural Cardiology, Vascular Disease, and Electrophysiology. We have a well-trained and dedicated staff (several with over 20+ years of service), including PET, SPECT, Stress Echo, Echocardiography, and Cardiac Device Techs in-house.

Cardiology Associates is affiliated with and provides call at one primary hospital, but performs procedures in a second hospital and an ambulatory surgical center.

Details:
  • Clinics: Cardiology Associates operates two clinics--in Ventura and Oxnard, California.
  • Clinic Hours: Clinics are open 8-5, with patients seen 8:30-5.
  • Call: ER call is approximately one in every 12 days with one in 12weekends at only one hospital.
  • Procedures/Imaging: Expected to conduct cardioversions, TEEs, stress echo oversight, and reading of nuclear studies. ICAEL accredited Echocardiography and Nuclear Labs with PET and Cardiac CT programs. Full EP and advanced structural program includes imaging for TAVR, Mitralclip, Tricilip, PFO closure, and WATCHMAN.
  • Resident Training: Cardiology Associates supports the training of internal medicine and family practice residents affiliated with our hospital residency program.
  • Research: An interest in research is beneficial as the practice leads and participates in clinical trials.
Salary/Benefits:
  • Salary: Competitive guaranteed salary during initial employment period with bonus potential after ramp-up.

  • Partnership: The successful applicant will be considered for partnership after thirty months.
Requirements:
  • Board Certification: Board certified or eligible.
  • Medical License: California license or eligibility.
Location:

With an oceanside mediterranean climate similar to Barcelona and Lisbon, Ventura is paradise for those who spend time outdoors. The cost of living is lower than most of Southern California and comparable to Dallas or Minneapolis. Plus, the benefits of coastal Southern California Living include being situated within one hour of the world-class culture and events in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Several of the best wineries in the world are less than an hour away and world class shopping can be found even closer. Access to the world via LAX is less than one hour away, while Santa Barbara airport can be reached in 30 minutes.

Though situated close to Los Angeles, Ventura does not have traffic or other big-city challenges. The Ventura lifestyle is easy-going with an emphasis on outdoor activities including surfing, spectacular road and mountain biking trails, local and grand hiking trails, top-rated skiing, golf, and dozens of others.

Top-notch public and private schools are nearby, with very competitive schools in the commuting area.
