The Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking an Information Systems Specialist 6 to join our team and lead the charge in maintaining, supporting, and advancing our complex statewide Enterprise systems.
About the Job - Your Role
In this role, you'll serve as a senior-level technical expert responsible for supporting and maintaining multiple statewide networks and server environments across the Oregon Department of Corrections. You'll provide advanced diagnostics, system administration, and infrastructure support in a complex, non-standardized environment. Your work will ensure secure, efficient, and reliable IT operations across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
This position is represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.

Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of information systems experience in : Planning, design, development, coordination, documentation and implementation of information systems. Including Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server Administration, System Center, Java, Certificate PKI, Azure Hybrid environments and PowerShell.
OR
An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field,
OR
AND
Three (3) years of information systems experience in :
OR
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
AND
One (1) year of information systems experience in : Microsoft Active Directory, PowerShell, Windows Server Administration and Azure Hybrid environments.

Working Conditions
Extensive work performed on video display terminals. Exposure to adults in custody in the workplace. Requires occasional in state and out-of-state overnight travel. Work schedule is driven by user need. May be required to respond after normal business hours for system emergencies. May be assigned on-call rotation or stand-by duties for 24 by 7 network operation support. Employee may work a variety of irregular hours in order to maintain operational systems at DOC facilities. Lifting PCs, terminals, and other computer equipment. Remove, replace or upgrade components. Bending, crawling, reaching under desks and computer workstations, and physical manipulation of large objects may be required.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
