Overview
We’re looking for a marketing leader to be the single threaded owner of one of the most strategically important and emotionally resonant categories in our portfolio—peer-to-peer (P2P) payments and global remittances. At its core, P2P is about connection : helping people move money between friends, family, and people around the world. It’s a vital engine that fuels PayPal’s broader payments ecosystem and business growth. This is a direct report to the Chief Marketing Officer at PayPal. In this role, you’ll lead global marketing for both the PayPal P2P and Xoom brands, crafting bold, insight-driven strategies that grow the P2P business and deepen customer relationships. You’ll set the vision, shape the narrative, and drive the go-to-market execution that establishes PayPal as the smartest, safest, and most trusted way to send money to anyone, anytime, anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive the global marketing strategy for PayPal and Xoom’s P2P business, directly accountable for category growth, user growth, and incremental value within our payments platform.
- Develop a bold, differentiated vision that elevates the role of PayPal’s P2P and remittances services in a crowded landscape, and drives meaningful growth in key geographies (domestic and international).
- Maintain a deep understanding of global trends and competition, translating insights into proactive strategies that position PayPal and Xoom as category leaders.
- Manage both brands for growth within an architecture that includes Venmo.
Go-to-Market & 360 Campaigns
Define and elevate the PayPal P2P and Xoom value propositions across diverse global audiences.Create scalable playbooks that enable us to go to market with speed and consistency.Craft emotionally compelling and trust-building messaging and creative that breaks through in a crowded category.Architect integrated marketing strategies and breakthrough creative campaigns in partnership with Brand, Media, Lifecycle, and Product Marketing.Translate product roadmaps into high-impact customer engagement moments that drive awareness, activation, and loyalty.Build, test, scale, and continuously optimize performance strategies anchored in KPIs, incrementality, and growth.Audience Strategy & Ecosystem Growth
Determine the priority countries to allocate budget and oversee local market execution as required.Lead our global audience segmentation strategy for the P2P and remittance audiences and unlock new growth opportunities by identifying and activating high-value segments in key regions.Partner with marketing peers and product leaders across the business to develop cross-product journeys that reinforce PayPal’s ecosystem value—keeping money flowing from P2P into shopping, remittances, crypto, and beyond.Drive strategies that build community, loyalty, and increase customer lifetime value.Team Building & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Build and mentor a world-class team of marketers who eat insights for breakfast, take big swings, problem solve, and operate with accountability.Collaborate deeply with Product, Analytics, Legal, Comms, and Finance to drive alignment and measurable business impact.Serve as a trusted leader in PayPal’s broader marketing organization, helping shape the future of the brand and championing the role of P2P and remittances in our broader business strategy.Experience & Qualifications
12–15+ years of marketing experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.Strong background in financial services, fintech, or payments; direct experience with P2P or remittance brands is a significant plus.Demonstrated ability to lead brand and performance marketing at global scale.Expertise in go-to-market strategy, audience segmentation, and full-funnel growth.Analytical mindset with proven success using data to shape decisions and optimize results.Experience building new teams or functions in dynamic, matrixed environments.How You Operate

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $188,000 to $323,950.
