Dentist opening in LALocated in Crowley, 53m to Lake CharlesFull Time and Experience RequiredThe General Dentist examines individuals requesting care, diagnoses their dental conditions, prescribes and carries out, or directs others in carrying out, appropriate therapy, or refers individuals for specialty consultation or care in accordance with approved clinical privileges. The dentist also educates individuals on the nature of oral health conditions, general health promotion, and prevention of oral disease.EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE : Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.Must be licensed to practice dentistry in the state of state .CPR certification required.Knowledge of the basic concepts, principles, and practices of supervision, with the ability to apply them effectively.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Accurately record patient-dentist interactions in the medical / dental record using standardized nomenclature, reflecting the nature of the contact, the patient's condition, and the care provided.Complete referrals, data collection instruments, and other required paperwork.Participate in medical / dental staff meetings as assigned and engage in the center's quality assurance program.Assist in providing continuing education, on-the-job training, and orientation for center staff.Provide technical assistance and health education to the community as requested.Work under the general supervision of the Dental Director, with clinical work evaluated through the center s Quality Assurance Program.Perform a broad range of dental functions, including education, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.Handle simultaneous assignments requiring distinct skills and knowledge to care for multiple patients.Exposure to moderate risks, including contagious diseases (e.g., TB, Hepatitis, AIDS), adverse weather, dental materials (e.g., mercury), dental equipment, and radiation.MISSION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE : Demonstrate commitment to the mission and prioritize the best interests of the customers in our care.Represent the organization professionally, both in the workplace and in the community.Ensure appearance and attire comply with the department's dress code.Communicate effectively with customers, actively listen to their concerns, and respond promptly while respecting patient privacy.Maintain respect for the diverse talents of colleagues, offer assistance as necessary, and foster a collaborative environment.Protect the privacy and confidentiality of customers, staff, and the community.Adhere to safety practices and maintain a safe environment for self, co-workers, patients, and visitors.Collaborate to resolve issues, improve processes, and develop services, advocating for customers.Comply with organizational policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safety, attendance, and flexibility.Follow applicable federal / state laws and standards related to job duties.Engage in continuous performance improvement activities within the department or organization.
