I-77 Mobility Partners LLC is financing, developing, designing, constructing, operating and maintaining the 26-mile I-77 Express project as part of a public-private partnership with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The tolled express lanes run adjacent to the general-purpose lanes on I-77 between uptown Charlotte and Mooresville. I-77 Mobility Partners is responsible for operations and maintenance of all lanes, both express and general purpose, and right of way within the designated project corridor limits.

Job Description :

As the Health & Safety Specialist under the general supervision of the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager you will assist in the developing and implementation of safety programs, conduct inspections, and educate employees about health and safety regulations and precautions. Additionally, you will investigate incidents to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday | 8PM to 6AM

Weekly schedule ends Friday morning at 6AM

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participates / assists in the development and implementation of safety programs related to Maintenance and Tolling activities, and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
• Advises the Operations & Maintenance, and ITS staff on safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of workers as regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), ANSI, and NFPA.
• Conducts risk assessments to identify potential hazards and assess risks associated with various work activities.
• Assigns, develops and delivers training to employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform regular and follow-up inspections of facility, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigates incidents, injuries, and near misses to determine needed corrective actions.
• Maintains accurate records of all trainings, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Manages emergency situations which include the development and implementation of emergency response plans, provide oversight for annual required drills, and manage / respond to all spills.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Monitors compliance to safety protocols and requirements for subcontracted work.
• Administrate the Learning Management System (KPA)
